Kyiv, August 24 (QNA) – The Ukrainian army said on Sunday that the number of casualties among the Russian troops since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022 has reached approximately 1,076,070 individuals, among them 910 who were either killed or wounded in the past 24 hours.
Since the start of the war, Ukrainian troops have destroyed 11,129 tanks, 23,167 armored combat vehicles, 31,898 artillery systems, 1,472 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and 1,211 air defense systems, the Ukrainian General Staff of the Armed Forces reported in a statement.
The statement added that the Ukrainian military also destroyed 422 combat aircraft, 340 helicopters, 53,056 drones, 3,598 cruise missiles, 28 warships, including one submarine, 59,593 vehicles and fuel tanks, as well as 3,944 pieces of special equipment.
The latest meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin has not made any breakthrough at the political level to end the conflict and reach a peace deal.
Last Friday, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction and emphasized that he is considering either imposing economic sanctions on Russia or walking away from the peace process.
