Beijing, August 26 (QNA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed during his meeting on Tuesday with Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in Beijing that bilateral relations between the two countries are a source of stability for world peace.
The Chinese president pointed out that China-Russiaآ relations are the most stable, mature and strategically significant major-country relations in today’s volatile and changing world, according to China’s (Xinhua) news agency.
He added that continuing to promote the high-level development of China-Russia relations serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of both countries and is also a source of stability for world peace.
The Chinese president was quote by the China Central Television (CCTV) as saying that the two sides should continue their traditional friendship, deepen strategic mutual trust, enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and work together to safeguard the security and development interests of the two countries.
Volodin also briefed the Chinese President on the results of the 10th meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National People’s Congress of China, held today in Beijing.
Volodin had earlier met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhao Leji.
