Save Yasin Malik Conference’ lambastes New Delhi’s nefarious move of converting life imprisonment Yasin Malik, in to death penalty:

MIRPUR (AJK): August 27: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF -Yasin Malik) held a conference titled “Save Yasin Malik Conference” in the federal metropolis on Tuesday against the Indian nefarious design of converting the life imprisonment of pro-freedom Kashmiri political leader and the illegally incarcerated Chairman JKLF, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in to death penalty, the host organization said.

“The life imprisonment in fake and politically motivated cases was defenselessly and unjustly awarded to him on 25th May, 2022 by a special court set-up in Delhi on the dictates of Mr. Modi led government of India. The conference was aimed to highlight Yasin Malik being the worst victim of political vendetta at the hands of Indian government, and to raise voice against the injustices he has been met with”, Islamabad Declaration issued by the Conference, and released to the media here on Wednesday said.

The conference, the Declaration continued, was attended by the political leadership from across the both sides of ceasefire line in Jammu Kashmir along with the members from civil society, human rights activists and student representatives. The prominent members of Pakistani intelligentsia that includes Senators, human rights defenders, opinion makers, writers and members from media and lawyers fraternity also participated in the conference.

After fruitful discussions among the participants, the “Islamabad Declaration” was unanimously adopted at the end of the conference based on the following resolutions:

1. The participants of the conference very strongly and unequivocally condemns the act of making the illegally imprisoned Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, the worst victim of political vendetta on false, fabricated and politically motivated cases filed against him by the extremist Indian government led by Prime Minister Narender Modi.

2. The conference appeals the world community especially the world human rights institutions to save precious life of Yasin Malik for being a popular public leader as the government of India is hell bent upon to convert his life imprisonment into death penalty.

3. The conference demanded immediate and unconditional release of JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and world-renowned Kashmiri human rights activist and the founding leader of the Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) Khurram Pervez including the top pro-freedom political leaders lodged in Tihar Jail especially Syed Shabir A. Shah, Masarat Alam Butt, Nayeem A. Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Mehrajudin Kalwal, Farooq A. Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam along with Asiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen and Fehmida Sofi besides other pro-freedom prisoners from Jammu Kashmir languishing in different jails of the State and outside in India.

4. In order to express solidarity with Yasin Malik and other pro-freedom Kashmiri political prisoners, the conference appeals people of the entire state of Jammu Kashmir from both sides of the ceasefire line to observe one-day complete strike and hold protest demonstrations on Friday, September 12, against the injustices committed upon them by India.

5. The conference makes a fervent appeal to the overseas Kashmiri diaspora affiliated with various political, religious and social organizations, especially in the European and Western civilized world, to set aside all their political, ideological and personal differences on this occasion and through vigorous and effective diplomatic awareness campaign try to persuade public and government representatives including the relevant international organizations to play their role in saving Muhammad Yasin Malik’s precious life.

6. While offering salutations to the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir, the participants of the conference paid rich tributes to pro-freedom political prisoners, including Yasin Malik, for their struggle and expression of great courage and steadfastness during these tough times.

7. While rejecting the division of Jammu Kashmir, the Conference expresses its solemn commitment to continue the struggle until the State of Jammu Kashmir achieves its freedom in accordance with the principle of “Unfettered Right to Self-Determination”.
