MUSCAT, Oman / ISTANBUL, October 24 – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Thursday with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq at Al Alam Palace in Muscat, where the two leaders held high-level talks aimed at deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting, held behind closed doors, was followed by expanded delegation-level discussions and a signing ceremony during which 16 new bilateral agreements were adopted between Türkiye and Oman.
According to a statement by the Turkish Communications Directorate, President Erdogan emphasized the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties binding the two nations. He noted that the visit further strengthened solidarity and laid the foundation for enhanced cooperation in areas such as industry, economy, defense, and communications.
President Erdogan also highlighted that Türkiye and Oman share similar perspectives on key regional and international matters, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause. He expressed appreciation for Oman’s mediation efforts and reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to joint initiatives supporting a two-state solution in Gaza.
Sultan Haitham and President Erdogan affirmed their shared determination to advance strategic relations and explore new avenues of collaboration that reflect the strong mutual trust and friendship between their countries.
Oman represents the final leg of President Erdogan’s three-nation Gulf tour, which also included visits to Kuwait and Qatar earlier this week. The tour underscores Türkiye’s growing engagement with Gulf partners in fostering political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation across the region.
