Istanbul, 24 October, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Ankara will take joint steps with Gulf countries to rebuild Gaza, stressing the need for a unified and coordinated effort.
“We will rebuild Gaza together. This is not something Türkiye, Egypt, or other Gulf countries can do alone,” Erdogan told reporters on his return from a Gulf tour. He said discussions are underway to form a multifaceted Gaza task force, reaffirming Türkiye’s readiness to provide “all necessary support” for reconstruction.
Calling the devastation in Gaza a “test for the Muslim world,” Erdogan said, “We must pass it honorably and stand firmly with our brothers in Gaza.” He underlined the importance of excavation and reconstruction work to restore damaged infrastructure and urged the international community—especially the United States—to apply greater diplomatic pressure on Israel to fully comply with the ceasefire.
Erdogan also confirmed that Türkiye continues to send humanitarian aid through Egypt, noting the arrival of the 17th Goodness Ship at Al Arish Port. “It is now time for action, not words,” he emphasized.
During his visit to Oman, Erdogan announced that starting November 1, Turkish citizens will be able to visit Oman visa-free for a limited period.
Touching on defense cooperation, he said Türkiye’s talks with Qatar and Oman on Eurofighter jet procurement are progressing positively and will strengthen the Turkish Air Force.
Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s readiness to facilitate peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine, stressing that “any dialogue that can end this war is valuable.”
He also welcomed the recent elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, expressing Ankara’s respect for the will of Turkish Cypriots and commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
