Gaza, November 2– Hamas on Sunday rejected U.S. accusations that its members looted humanitarian aid bound for the Gaza Strip, describing the allegations as false, baseless, and politically motivated.
In an official statement, Hamas condemned what it called “fabricated claims” made by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) regarding the alleged seizure of an aid truck in southern Gaza. The group said the accusations aimed to justify further restrictions on already limited humanitarian assistance reaching the enclave.
Hamas stressed that no international or local aid agencies, nor any truck drivers involved in relief operations, had reported such an incident. The movement accused Washington of adopting “the Israeli narrative,” which it said deepens U.S. complicity in the blockade and ongoing suffering of the Palestinian population.
The statement followed CENTCOM’s announcement on Saturday that a U.S. drone had observed suspected Hamas members commandeering an aid truck from a convoy carrying supplies provided by Israel. The command added that the driver’s whereabouts were still unknown.
Rejecting these claims, Hamas asserted that the image released by CENTCOM was “fabricated” and called on international bodies to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza without political interference or military exploitation.
