Doha, November 03 (QNA) – HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met at the Amiri Diwan on Monday with HM King Philippe of the friendly Kingdom of Belgium on the occasion of His Majesty’s visit to the State of Qatar to participate in the second World Summit for Social Development, which will begin in Doha on Tuesday.
At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed HM the King of Belgium and his accompanying delegation and underscored the importance of the cemented ties between the two countries across a variety of fields.
His Highness further underlined that the State of Qatar looks forward to strengthening these relations and elevating them to new heights for the joint interests of the two friendly nations, expressing his thanks to His Majesty for responding to the invitation to participate in the summit.
For his part, HM the King of Belgium expressed his thanks to HH the Amir for the warm welcome and the invitation to participate in the summit, emphasizing his country’s keenness to deepen the relations of friendship and cooperation with Qatar and advance them in all fields.
His Majesty further lauded HH the Amir’s role and the State of Qatar’s supportive efforts for peace in the region and the world.
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relationship between the two friendly nations and ways to enhance it in multiple areas, key regional and global developments, and a range of subjects of shared interest.
HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, alongside a variety of Their Excellences, high-ranking officials, attended the meeting.
Attending from the Belgian side were HE Minister of Consumer Protection, the Fight against Social Fraud, Persons with Disabilities and Equal Opportunities, Rob Beenders, along with members of the official delegation accompanying HM the King.
HH the Amir and HM King Philippe held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed a range of issues of mutual interest on the regional and global stages.
