Pakistan Shaheens booked their place in the Asia Cup Rising Star Men Qatar 2025 final after defeating Sri Lanka A by five runs in a thrilling second semi-final held in Doha on Friday, 21 November 2025.
Sri Lanka A won the toss and opted to field first. Pakistan Shaheens posted a competitive 153 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, with Ghazi Ghori top-scoring with 39 runs and Saad Masood contributing 22 runs, giving their team a defendable total.
Chasing 154, Sri Lanka A fought hard but were eventually bowled out for 148 runs. Milan Rathnayake was the standout performer for Sri Lanka A with 40 runs, while opener Vishen Halambage added 29 runs. Tight bowling from Pakistan Shaheens, especially Saad Masood, who took 4 wickets for just 18 runs in four overs, ensured a narrow but crucial victory. Saad Masood was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
The stadium was filled with enthusiastic fans cheering for both teams, creating an electric atmosphere as the match unfolded.
With this victory, Pakistan Shaheens advance to the grand final, where they will face Bangladesh A. In the first semi-final, Bangladesh A defeated India A by one run in a dramatic encounter. Both teams had finished their 20 overs on 194 runs each, forcing the match into a super over, where Bangladesh A emerged victorious.
