OANA Executive Board Holds its 57th Meeting with Participation of Qatar News Agency

Beijing, December 3, 2025 QNA – The 57th Executive Board meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) convened Wednesday in China’s Hainan Province, with the State of Qatar taking part through a delegation led by HE Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi.

The session opened with remarks from Xinhua News Agency President Fu Hua, who highlighted the transformative impact of rapid technological progress on global media. He emphasized the growing influence of artificial intelligence on news production and distribution, noting that these advancements are reshaping professional roles and challenging traditional media structures. Fu Hua urged OANA members to strengthen their services, adapt proactively, and enhance collaboration to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

During the meeting, participants announced that Qatar News Agency will host the 58th Executive Board session in June 2026, followed by the Vietnam News Agency for the 59th session.

HE Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi expressed gratitude for OANA’s confidence in selecting Doha as the next host, affirming Qatar’s commitment to delivering an outstanding and impactful meeting. He noted that Doha is well positioned to provide a dynamic platform for dialogue, professional exchange, and innovation, underscoring Qatar’s dedication to supporting the organization’s objectives and future achievements.

The Executive Board also reviewed a newly signed memorandum of understanding between OANA and the Boao Forum for Entrepreneurs, aimed at enhancing cooperation and communication. Members approved minutes from the previous meeting, discussed financial and activity reports, and considered a proposal to admit Mongolia’s Montsame National News Agency as OANA’s 13th member.
