MIRPUR (AJK): Dec. 30: Brussels-based Chai Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Chairman Raza Syed Tuesday expressed hope that the difficulties faced by Kashmiris will lessen in the new year, and the world will understand their demands and support them their struggle for rights, it was officially said.
In a statement issued on the advent of the New Year, reaching and released to the media here tonight, the Kashmiri rights activist said “Kashmiris are struggling for their right to self-determination, which has been suppressed by India for several decades,” our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports
Ali Raza Syed further stated, “Kashmiris should not lose heart; their sacrifices will not go in vain. The international community must support Kashmiris in ensuring the implementation of United Nations resolutions and in achieving a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with their (Kashmiris) will,” according to the message.
The Chairman KCEU emphasized, “The international community should pressure India to pave the way for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, ensuring the immediate release of Kashmiri political prisoners and human rights activists, an end to human rights violations, and the withdrawal of Indian troops from occupied Kashmir.”
Chairman KECU specifically demanded the release of Kashmiri political prisoners and human rights activities such as Yasin Malik, Shabbir Shah, and Khurram Pervez, who have been held in Indian prisons for years under fabricated charges.
Ali Raza Syed made it clear that “until Kashmiris attain freedom from India, they will continue their struggle.”
