MIRPUR (AJK): January 4: Azad Jammu Kashmir Mirpur Minister for Kashmir Cause, Arts and Languages Nabila Ayub Khan here on Sunday called upon the United Nations to immediately move for implementation of its its resolutions to pave the way for early settlement of Kashmir issue Through granting the much cherished right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir state without further loss of time.
“January 5 is the Day of Right to Self-Determination when the United Nations passed a resolution on the initiative of five countries including the United States for the global human principle of the grant of birth right to self-determination of the Jammu & Kashmiri state people, the minister expressed these views while addressing a ceremony hosted by Kashmir Committee of the Kashmir Press Club in Mirpur on Sunday.
Our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent and Resident Editor Altaf Hamid Rao reports that Nabeela Ayub Khan continued as saying this day is a day of renewal for the Kashmiri people the world over, it is also a moment of reminder for the United Nations and the freedom and peace loving countries around the world to play their full role to ensure early grant to the Kashmiri people the right to self-determination usurped by India for last 76 years blatantly denying the Kashmir resolution of January 5, 1949 of the United Nations Organization.
She stated that the historic resolutions also provide opportunity to Kashmiri people living on both sides of the LoC to exercise their birthright of self-determination to decide about their destiny whether to accede to Pakistan or India through a free and fair plebiscite getting rid of Indian oppression and decide their future as they wish.
The ceremony was was chaired by the Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Zafar Mughal and was addressed among others by senior Kashmiri Journalist and ex-President of Kashmir Press Club Mirpur Altaf Hamid Rao, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Faisal Gulzar, renowned lawyer Chaudhry Munir Hussain, General Secretary KPC Sohrab Ahmed Khan, Professor Sagheer Aasi Zahoor Rasheed. and others.
Minister for Kashmir Cause, Culture and Languages Ms. Nabila Ayub Khan, while addressing the gathering, said that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is an indivisible entity. She recalled that after the emergence of Pakistan, India had forcibly deployed its armed troops in occupied,Jammu Kashmir against the wishes of tge people of Jammu and Kashmir state and established its oppressive rule in bulk of tge state at the might of her unlawfully landed military power.
“Even today, occupied Kashmir has been transformed into the world’s largest prison. More than one million Indian armed troops have unilaterally ignored the efforts of the United Nations and other freedom loving countries making the unarmed Kashmiri people hostages at gun point”, Nabila Ayub underlined adfing “However, the Kashmiri people have made sacrifices in the world’s immortal history for the end of the dark night of Indian oppression and the dawn of freedom”, she said.
The minister further said that the fragrance of the freedom struggle couldn’t be erased by barbed wire under any circumstances, and ultimately, the eternal and historic sacrifices of the Kashmiris will surely continue to bear fruit.
Nabila Ayub Khan stated that former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had founded the PPP in the name of Kashmir issue authoring idea of turning Pakistan into a nuclear state to make the country an invincible power and announced that they would fight for the freedom of Kashmir for a thousand years. she asserted adding that while Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, after acquiring nuclear technology, equipped Pakistan with missile technology during her tenure and made progress towards making Pakistan an invincible fortress.
The minister underlined that this was the reason, Pakistan, last year, on the strength of this exceptional power, valiant armed forces of Pakistan responded to Indian unilateral aggression in broad daylight resorting to convincing defeat to the enemy raising the image of Pakistan throughout the world, she added.
“Now the time is near when India’s evil intentions will again be thwarted with full vigor if she dared to launch any aggression against Pakistan or Azad Jammu Kashmir- harder than of May 6-10, 2025 brief war.
She said the Kashmiri people will definitely succeed in achieving their fundamental and birthright of self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations.
Nabila,Ayub said that under the leadership of the AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, she have been entrusted with the responsibility of the Kashmir cause in Azad Jammu Kashmir and If Allah the Almighty willing, will ensure the early achievement of the birth rights of the Kashmiri people, she vowed.
” I will spare no effort to highlight the Kashmiris indigenous struggle for right to self-determination worldwide to achieve ultimatr freedom.
The KPC Kashmir Committee Chairman Zafar Mughal recalled that ,l former Prime Minister Mumtaz Rathore,
during his term in poeer in AJK, entrusted the then Chief Justice of the AJK High Court Abdul Majeed Malik with the responsibility of highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international level exposing Indian oppression besides for the freedom of the Kashmiris, in the International Court of Justice.
He said that his father’s legacy newly elected AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, son of the late Mumtaz Hussain Rathore, established the Ministry of Kashmir Cause on the second day of stepping into power inducting Nabila Ayub Khan as its minister.
On this occasion Zafar Mughal presented a commemorative shield to the special guest, Minister for Kashmir Cause Nabila Ayub Khan on behalf of the press club.
