81, 500 under-5 years of age children to be immunised during 4-day Feb. 2 -5 national anti-polio drive in Bhimber District: DC tells APP

MIRPUR ( AJK): January 9: A special meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bhimber Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, formulated integrated plan to launch 4-day anti-polio campaign commencing from Bhimber besides across Azad Jammu Kashmir from February 2 ( next month), it was officially stated.

The meeting conferred responsibilities to all the concerned relevant departments were assigned and a plan of action was formulated, Bhimber Deputy Commissioner later told this Correspondent late Friday

The 4-day nation wide campaign will continue from February 2 to February 5, the DC said while talking to the news agency over telephone.

Addressing the meeting Deputy Commissioner Ch Haq Nawaz said that the state of Azad Jammu Kashmir stands as a polio-free region with the blessings if Allah the almighty. . “We have to continue our efforts to maintain this honor”, he added.

DHO Bhimber, Ms. Dr. Iram Batool, flanked by other health officers, briefed the meeting of the overall success of the identical anti polio drives in the oast, managed in the district against polio virus.

Polio vaccine drops will be administered to 81,500 children under 5 years of age during the drive.

The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the performance of the DHO and her team assuring all cooperation from the police magistrates and other related law enforcement functioneries during the scheduled drive.

Officers of the World Health Organization Education Department while sharing their respective input, resolved to make the anti-polio campaign complete success.
