MIRPUR ( AJK): January 15: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has made Computerised National Identity Card (NIC) mandatory for exercising the right to vote for the upcoming Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections due to be held in mid of this year, it was officially said
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has issued a schedule for the visits of NADRA’s mobile registration vans to make National Identity Cards (NICs) for the voters of Mirpur district, including other districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the AJK Election Commission sources told this Correspondent here on Thursday.
“According to the schedule issued, under Section 21(A) of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Act, 2020, it is mandatory for voters to produce original National Identity Cards (NICs) to exercise their right to vote. In order to fulfill the above legal requirements and to facilitate the citizens of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to obtain National Identity Cards at their doorsteps, the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has organized visits of mobile registration vans in various districts of Azad Jammu Kashmir”, the sources said.
In Mirpur district, mobile vans will visit village of Pandkhurd on February 2, 2026, Katthardalwar Khan on February 3, 2026, Sindal on February 4, 2026, Dagar on February 5, 2026, Sadiqabad on February 6, 2026, Surkhi on February 9, 2026, Siyakh on February 10, 2026, Chhatra on February 11, 2026, Khadimabad on February 12, 2026, Raipur on February 13, 2026, Bharoti on February 16, 2026, Amb on February 17, 2026, Awana on February 18, 2026, Faizpur Sharif on February 19 and 20, 2026, Issar on February 23, 2026, Afzalpur on February 24, 2026, Bangdwara on February 25, 2026, Kochi: The event will be held on February 27, 2026, from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
