MIRPUR ( AJK): January 16: Mirpur-AJK Police bursted a most wanted inter-provincial dacoits gang involved in several robberies from Dadyal area and recovered and seized millions of rupees worth looted property besides illegal weapons from the custody of the arrested bandits, police
The police also nabbed an accused allegedly involved in killing his wife by pouring petrol on her over a domestic dispute from the limits of the Dadyal Police Station.
Our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that while disclosing this SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal told a press conference here on Friday that at the midnight of May 10-11, 2025, at 03:15 am, 03 armed persons broke into the house of Muhammad Rashid son of Muhammad Sajawal, resident of Kheri Bala Dadyal and forcibly snatched bangles, earrings from Muhammad Rashid’s wife and also robbed him of cash worth about Rs 40,50,000 and fled.
On which, a case No. 134/25 dated May 11, 2025 was registered under the crimes EHA-17(3), APC-458/337A/34 at Police Station Dadyial.
During the investigation, Zohaib Tahir, Officer-in-Charge of Police Station Dadyal, conducted search of the unknown accused on modern scientific grounds. Resultantly the accused Qasim Ali son of Mehboob Ali, resident of Thathi Gujjar Khan, who used to work as a plumber in Dadyial, was traced and arrested.
On the disclosure of the accused, other co-accused Usman son of Mushtaq resident of Jabar Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi district, Muhammad Naseer alias Saleem son of Mahmood resident of Kotla Musa Khan, Ahmedpur Sharqia district, Bahawalpur, Zafar Ali son of Mazhar Ali resident of Dipalpur Hal Khadimabad, Yasir son of Nasir resident of Deona Mandi, Gujarat and Ali Akbar son of Ali Sher resident of Vehari Hal Khadimabad have also been arrested while tracing. Rs. 21,00,000/- (twenty one lakh) was recovered from them.
While on February 05, 2025, the same accused had robbed the house of Muhammad Bashir son of Dewan Ali resident of Sochani Dadial and snatched 06 gold bangles, 02 gold rings, 01 gold ring, 9 thousand rupees in cash at gunpoint and fled. On which case No. 40/25 dated February 05, 2025, under the crimes EHA-17(3), APC-458/337A/34, Police Station Dadial, was registered. In addition, during the investigation, it was revealed from the accused that after committing various crimes in the homes of Overseas Pakistanis who used to return to their ancestral homes from England abroad, the same accused robbed the house of one Muhammad Sagheer, son of Abdul Latif, resident of Dadial, in the year 2024, at Kandor Dadial, and during the incident, they snatched 04 expensive mobile phones, 01 lakh Pakistani rupees, 500 British pounds and fled, against which case No. 187/24 dated May 12, 2024, under the crimes EHA-17(3), APC-324/458/337/342, was registered at Police Station Dadial, the District Police Chief said.
“So far, looted goods worth Rs 2.1 million have been recovered from the possession of all the accused. On the identification of the accused, 02 Kalashnikovs, 02 pistols 30 bore, 02 rifles 12 bore and 23 rounds, 05 cartridges and 03 magazines have also been recovered. In this regard, a separate case has been registered against the accused under the Unlawful Arms Act. Further investigation is underway with the accused, SSP Khurram Iqbal said .
“More revelations are expected from them. On 13-01-25, Mr. Sikandar son of Zarov, resident of Sanola Piran, doused his wife with petrol and set her on fire on the basis of a domestic dispute. She succumbed to her injuries during treatment. A case was registered against the said accused under APC-302,324/337AF dated 13-01-26 at Police Station Dadial and the accused was arrested. Further investigations are in progress, according to the SSP.
SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal further said that in the light of his special instructions, police led by Sardar Babar Rafique DSP Dadial, Zohaib Tahir SHO Dadyal Police Station and their entire team worked tirelessly day and night to trace and arrest the accused in the three robbery cases and recovered the stolen goods. In addition to illegally recovering weapons, modern investigation methods were adopted in this entire operation and full technical support was provided.
In addition, police so far recovered about Rs 7.6 million and one vehicle worth about Rs 1.25 crore in fake visa scandals and other transaction disputes and handed over to the victims during the current year. In the future, visa fraud and other fraud cases will also be handled without discrimination.
The SSP Khurram Iqbal asserted that Mirpur district stands as a peaceful area, where there was no place for criminals including ant social elements. Despite the lack of resources, Mirpur police was engaged day and night to vanish the anti social elements from their roots, he said adding vigorous action will be continued against criminals till their total elimination.
