Tehran, January 18 (QNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met in Tehran on Sunday with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries and a raft of regional and global matters of shared interest.
During a joint press conference following the meeting, Araghchi underlined Iraq’s readiness to reinforce the bilateral relationship with Iran at all stages and to reach a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two countries.
There is an ongoing common understanding with Iraq pertaining to security and regional issues, Araghchi pointed out.
For his part, Hussein said that he discussed with his Iranian counterpart ways to advance economic ties between the two countries, pointing to the importance of persistent communication between the two nations amid developments in the region.
