Multan, January 20, 2026: A nominated team from the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), under the Higher Education Commission (HEC), visited Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan (MNSUAM) to accredit five degree programs: Agronomy, Biotechnology, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Plant Breeding & Genetics.
The inaugural session was attended by NAEAC Secretary Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, along with distinguished members including Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Riaz Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Hafiz Khurram Shurjeel, Prof. Dr. Sultan Habibullah Khan, and other experts. University leadership, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ali (T.I.), Deans, Directors, Chairpersons, and faculty members, warmly welcomed the team.
Prof. Dr. Asif Ali delivered a comprehensive presentation on MNSUAM’s history, academic growth, research initiatives, patents, entrepreneurial activities, faculty recruitment, rankings, awards, alumni engagement, and community outreach. He emphasized the importance of skill-based, demand-driven agricultural education and suggested structural reforms to enhance NAEAC’s effectiveness.
Dr. Abdul Ghaffar highlighted the standards and sub-standards forming NAEAC’s accreditation criteria, stressing the role of accreditation in improving academic quality and aligning universities with national benchmarks.
The NAEAC team conducted detailed departmental inspections, reviewing course files, curriculum, labs, libraries, research and field facilities, faculty and student interactions, and practical learning opportunities. They commended MNSUAM’s well-equipped laboratories, modern resources, and dedication to hands-on learning. Recommendations for further improvement were also shared.
The visit concluded with mutual appreciation, recognizing the university’s rapid progress and the Vice Chancellor’s visionary leadership in elevating MNSUAM’s academic standards.
