Türkiye welcomes all steps that contribute to peace, stability, and unity in Syria, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said following a Cabinet meeting in Ankara on Monday.
Addressing the nation, President Erdogan stressed that any initiative safeguarding Syria’s territorial integrity and political unity is acceptable and reasonable for Türkiye. He said recent agreements have opened a new chapter for the Syrian people and warned that any attempt to undermine this progress would fail.
“As Türkiye, we sincerely want our neighbor Syria to restore domestic peace as soon as possible,” Erdogan said, reiterating Ankara’s long-standing position in favor of stability and reconciliation.
The Turkish president underlined that Türkiye supports peace, stability, reconciliation, and solidarity among peoples across the region, emphasizing that lasting stability in Syria is essential for broader regional security.
He also warned against actors who profit from instability, vowing that Türkiye will firmly oppose those who fuel conflict, exploit tension, and disregard human life for political or financial gain.
President Erdogan reaffirmed that Ankara’s approach is based on supporting legitimate efforts that promote peace and unity, while rejecting any actions that threaten Syria’s sovereignty or prolong suffering.
Türkiye, he concluded, will continue to stand for stability and peace in Syria and across the wider region.
