Tehran, February 09 (QNA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described recent talks with the United States in Muscat, Oman, as a key opportunity to reach a fair and balanced solution on the nuclear file.
He stressed that Iran seeks guarantees for its nuclear rights under the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the lifting of sanctions. Pezeshkian also expressed Iran’s readiness to expand economic, trade, and diplomatic relations, particularly with neighboring countries.
The talks, held on Friday, were the first between the two countries since US strikes on multiple sites in Iran last June. President Donald Trump described the discussions as “very good” and said further meetings are planned next week.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who led Tehran’s delegation, highlighted the “very positive atmosphere” of the talks and confirmed that both sides agreed to continue discussions after consultations with their respective governments.
