MOSCOW, Feb. 13 — A new round of trilateral discussions between Russia, the United States and Ukraine is scheduled to take place in Geneva on February 17–18, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Friday.
According to Russia’s TASS news agency, the Russian delegation will be headed by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky. The talks are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing security concerns and exploring possible confidence-building measures between the parties.
The first round of consultations was held in Abu Dhabi on January 23–24, where Russia was represented by military intelligence chief Igor Kostyukov. A second round followed in the Emirati capital on February 4–5.
Following the latest meeting, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to exchange 314 prisoners of war, marking a significant humanitarian development amid ongoing tensions.
The upcoming Geneva talks are expected to further assess progress and discuss additional steps toward de-escalation.
