Russia said Sunday its air defense systems intercepted hundreds of aerial threats launched by Ukraine amid ongoing hostilities between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defence, Russian forces shot down 605 drones, 12 U.S.-made HIMARS rockets, two Neptune long-range missiles, and four guided aerial bombs allegedly launched by Ukrainian forces.
The ministry said Russian troops also carried out strikes targeting energy and transport infrastructure used by Ukrainian military units, as well as facilities linked to the training and launching of long-range drones. Temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign fighters were also targeted, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Sergei Sobyanin reported on social media that Russian air defense units intercepted 28 Ukrainian drones that were heading toward Moscow earlier on Sunday.
The claims could not be independently verified.
