Israel said it carried out airstrikes targeting an underwater research and development facility in Isfahan, as well as government-related sites in Tehran, amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Iran.
According to the Israeli military, the strike in Isfahan significantly damaged a facility responsible for the design and development of submarines and underwater systems for the Iranian Navy. The site was also reportedly involved in the production of unmanned naval vessels. Israeli officials said the strike would limit Iran’s ability to develop advanced submarines and upgrade its naval fleet.
The Israeli military also confirmed it conducted two waves of large-scale airstrikes targeting government sites in Tehran. Meanwhile, air raid sirens were activated across Israel following Iranian missile launches, including in Tel Aviv and Hadera, where a major power station is located. Israeli authorities reported that one missile landed in an open area and caused no damage to infrastructure or casualties.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that since the start of the nearly month-long conflict, Israel has dropped more than 15,000 munitions on Iranian targets.
The latest developments come amid heightened regional tensions following joint U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran earlier this year, which were followed by retaliatory actions by Iran and its regional allies across the Middle East.
