MIRPUR (AJK), April 9 — Albert David, veteran leader of Pakistan’s Christian community and former member of the National Commission for Minorities, has lauded Pakistan’s civil and military leadership for brokering a crucial ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Speaking to RKI.News correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao, David emphasized that the agreement has averted a potentially catastrophic escalation that could have destabilized the region and triggered a wider global conflict, affecting millions of lives.
“Had this ceasefire not been achieved, the world would have witnessed unprecedented escalation, threatening peace and economic stability across nations,” he said.
David highlighted that Pakistan has emerged as a genuine peacekeeper, with both the United States and Iran demonstrating trust in its mediation. He noted that the country’s leadership has transformed Pakistan into a major regional and global player, reflecting credibility, vision, and a steadfast commitment to diplomacy and constructive dialogue.
He further pointed to the upcoming arrival of U.S. and Iranian delegations and the potential signing of an “Islamabad Accord,” which he called a historic step toward regional and global peace. The breakthrough, he added, is expected to foster worldwide economic stability, strengthen international cooperation, and inspire confidence in multilateral diplomacy.
Concluding his remarks, David said, “This outcome has positioned Pakistan’s leadership—the custodians of civilizations—as a genuine contender for the Nobel Peace Prize. The recognition Pakistan has earned today is for its diplomacy and unwavering commitment to peace and humanity.”
