English , Snippets , Sports - کھیل اور کھلاڑی , / Sunday, May 12th, 2024

England cricket icon James Anderson has declared that the moment has arrived to conclude his illustrious Test career, confirming that his final appearance in the five-day format will be during the upcoming match against the West Indies at Lord’s in July. At 41 years old, Anderson recently achieved the remarkable milestone of 700 Test wickets, placing him alongside the legendary spinners Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan. Despite this achievement, Anderson has opted to retire from Test cricket following discussions with England head coach Brendon McCullum. McCullum aims to reshape England’s seam attack for the future, with an eye towards the 2025-26 Ashes series. Taking to Instagram, Anderson shared his decision, stating, “Hi everyone. Just a note to say that the first Test of the summer at Lord’s will be my last Test.”
