Pakistan continues to play a key mediating role in efforts to ease tensions between the United States and Iran, according to Iran’s ambassador to Islamabad.
In an interview with Islamic Republic News Agency, Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam said Tehran has recently shared a new negotiation proposal with Pakistan, which is acting as a primary intermediary in the ongoing diplomatic process. He added that Pakistan’s leadership has conveyed the plan to Washington.
The envoy stated that Iran remains clear and transparent in its positions, emphasizing that progress in talks now depends on the United States’ willingness to engage constructively. He urged Washington to demonstrate sincerity if it seeks a meaningful resolution and breakthrough.
Moghadam noted that regional and global stakeholders are closely watching developments, expressing hope for positive outcomes. He reiterated that while Iran is prepared to defend its interests, it remains committed to diplomacy as the preferred path forward.
He also called on the United States to adopt a more balanced approach that respects Iran’s rights, rather than continuing what he described as aggressive policies. He added that sustained dialogue and mutual respect remain essential for achieving long-term regional stability and reducing tensions.
