MOSCOW, May 25 – Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said Monday that explosive devices resembling magnetic sea mines were discovered on the hull of a vessel arriving from Belgium at the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region.
According to the FSB, the devices were found near the engine room during an inspection of the vessel’s underwater section.
The agency said the devices appeared to be made from industrially produced components and were “presumably made in one of the NATO countries.”
It added that each device contained about seven kilograms of plastic explosives.
The FSB did not provide further details on the vessel or any related security measures following the discovery.
