Washington, May 25 (QNA) – US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States would not “rush into an agreement” with Iran, adding that the American blockade on Iranian ports would remain “fully in force and effective” until a deal is reached.
In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said, “The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, and I have informed my representatives not to rush into a deal in that time is on our side.”
“The Blockade will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed. Both sides must take their time and get it right.”
“Our relationship with Iran is becoming a much more professional and productive one. They must understand, however, that they cannot develop or procure a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb.”
The remarks came a day after Trump said that a comprehensive agreement between the United States and Iran had been “largely negotiated” and that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, signaling growing momentum toward ending the months-long conflict.
Trump had said on Saturday that the final details were still being worked out and would be announced “soon.”
