Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran could be finalized within the next 24 hours, describing the negotiations as being closer to success than ever before.
In a statement posted on X, Sharif said Pakistan was preparing for the electronic signing of the agreement once finalized. He added that technical-level discussions are expected to follow next week to advance the implementation process.
The prime minister expressed appreciation to both the United States and Iran for their continued engagement in the negotiations. He also thanked regional partners for supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability.
Sharif said Pakistan remains optimistic that the proposed agreement will become a historic milestone and help establish a foundation for lasting peace in the region.
