Switzerland has praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran, amid reports of a possible agreement to be signed in Geneva.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis. The two leaders discussed regional developments and welcomed encouraging progress toward a potential understanding between Washington and Tehran, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
The Swiss foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role in supporting dialogue and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond. Both sides agreed to remain closely engaged as developments continue.
The call comes amid media reports suggesting that a signing ceremony could take place in Geneva as early as Sunday. International outlets reported that preparations were underway for high-level participation, including possible travel arrangements linked to US officials.
