Hearts of Pakistanis and Kashmiris beat in Unison: Kashmiri Women folk

MIRPUR (AJK): June 15 : A large gathering of women leaders and activists representing various segments of the civil society including local political figures here on Monday strongly supported move for restoration and maintenance of peace and stability in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), announcing a complete boycott of the banned J &K Awami Action Committee.

Addressing conference at the Mirpur Press Club, prominent women figures including Ms. Kishwar Naheed (Muslim Conference), Naila Shakoor, Nasreen Farooq (Chairperson, Awami Aam Party), social media activist Tamana Hanan Loon, and other women leaders stated that hearts of Pakistanis and Kashmiris beat in Unison, our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur.

The Kashmiri women leaders continued that Azad Jammu Kashmir was a peaceful region, and that elements associated with the banned Awami Action Committee were attempting to create unrest, instability, and division, which they said was unacceptable under all circumstances. They urged the people to remain vigilant against individuals and groups allegedly attempting to spread misinformation and incite social discord.

The women leaders emphasized that the relationship between Pakistan and the people of Jammu Kashmir was historic, ideological, and rooted in public sentiment, and cannot be weakened by any disruptive force. They further stated that Pakistan has consistently supported the development of Azad Jammu Kashmir and worked to ensure the provision of basic facilities to the region.

The participants reiterated that the people of Azad Jammu Kashmir were committed to peace, development, and stability, and will not support any activity that could lead to unrest or tension in the state. They also appealed to the public, especially women, to act responsibly, avoid accepting rumors and provocative narratives, and contribute positively toward maintaining harmony in society.

Speakers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing efforts aimed at promoting peace, brotherhood, and development in Azad Jammu Kashmir, and vowed not to allow any disruptive or anti-state ideology to flourish and succeed.
