Switzerland: The first round of four-party talks involving the United States and Iran, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, concluded Sunday in Switzerland, according to media reports citing sources familiar with the Iranian delegation.
The talks, held in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock, focused on implementing an interim agreement under a memorandum aimed at reducing tensions and supporting regional stability.
Sources said the opening session lasted about 80 minutes before being paused for internal consultations. No official timing was announced for the next round of discussions.
Earlier, Qatar confirmed the start of negotiations, bringing together US and Iranian representatives with Qatari and Pakistani mediation as part of broader efforts to advance agreed commitments.
The US delegation is led by Vice President JD Vance, while Iran is represented by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with Qatari and Pakistani officials facilitating the talks.
The negotiations follow a memorandum signed last Wednesday to ease regional tensions and support the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Observers view the process as a step toward building confidence and sustaining diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.
Further details are expected after consultations resume.
