MOSCOW, June 22 – Russia is preparing a balanced action plan to stabilize its domestic fuel market as Ukrainian drone attacks disrupt refinery operations and lead to temporary fuel sales restrictions in several regions.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed officials during a meeting on the fuel market situation to develop a coordinated response plan. He directed relevant agencies to strengthen price monitoring and ensure rapid intervention when necessary.
Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service was tasked with continuously tracking price movements in the petroleum sector and acting swiftly to prevent unjustified increases and anti-competitive practices. Officials also reviewed national stock levels of petroleum products and assessed supply stability across regions.
Authorities said the fuel market remains under constant oversight to maintain balance between supply and demand. The meeting also addressed measures to prevent speculative pricing and preserve fair market conditions during ongoing disruptions.
Several refineries have been taken offline for maintenance following drone strikes, while Moscow has occasionally imposed export restrictions to secure domestic supply. The escalation of attacks has prompted localized fuel sales limits in affected areas, increasing pressure on supply management systems.
