Islamabad, June 22 – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will pay a one-day official visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, marking his first overseas trip since the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel earlier this year.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Pezeshkian will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior officials. During the visit, he is scheduled to hold separate meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors, including trade, energy, border management, regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides are also expected to review regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts following recent international engagements involving Iran.
Pakistan and Iran maintain longstanding historical, cultural and religious ties and have continued to cooperate on issues of mutual interest. The visit is expected to reinforce efforts by both countries to deepen collaboration and promote peace, stability and economic development across the region.
Pezeshkian last visited Pakistan on a state visit in August 2024.
