Chinese President Xi Jinping met Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Monday, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to expanding their strategic partnership and deepening practical cooperation.
Xi said China and Belarus should maintain close strategic communication and strengthen bilateral relations to deliver greater benefits to both nations. He reiterated China’s support for Belarus in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, while expressing Beijing’s readiness to assist the country’s development within its capacity.
Describing the two countries as trusted friends and all-weather strategic partners, Xi said bilateral ties have reached their strongest level in history. He highlighted growing political trust, successful Belt and Road cooperation, progress on key development projects, and effective coordination in multilateral forums.
Xi called for greater cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and closer coordination on global issues, saying both countries should contribute to international stability and promote a shared future for humanity.
Lukashenko welcomed the continued expansion of Belarus-China relations, describing China as an important partner in Belarus’ economic and social development. He said Belarus values closer strategic communication and broader cooperation with China, while pledging to strengthen coordination on regional and international affairs to support peace, stability and sustainable development.
