PARIS, July 3: Interpol has issued a Red Notice for a Ukrainian woman suspected of involvement in an explosion in Monaco earlier this week, French media reported on Friday.
The 39-year-old suspect is wanted at the request of Monaco on charges including attempted murder and the deliberate placement of an explosive device in a public place.
According to French newspaper Le Figaro, she is considered the prime suspect in the case.
The explosion occurred on Monday in Monaco, injuring three people, including two seriously injured victims. The Monaco Prosecutor General’s Office has ruled out terrorism as a motive and has opened an investigation into attempted murder.
Authorities said the incident took place around 9:00 p.m. local time when a suspicious package was allegedly left in the lobby of a residential building before the suspect fled. The package detonated shortly after, as the victims arrived.
Interpol said the Red Notice is part of an international effort to locate and provisionally arrest the suspect pending extradition proceedings.
