MIRPUR (AJK), July 8: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) nominated candidate Chaudhry Taimoor Farooq for the LA-4 Khari Sharif constituency in the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections has pledged comprehensive development and improved public services if elected.
Addressing a press conference at the Kashmir Press Club Mirpur, Farooq said he belongs to a political family with a long tradition of public service dating back to 1979. He said he entered politics to address public issues and bring practical solutions rather than making promises.
Farooq said Khari Sharif has remained deprived of development for years, particularly in healthcare, roads, and education. He highlighted the absence of proper healthcare facilities in the area, forcing residents to travel to Rawalpindi and Islamabad for treatment.
He said he left his government job and business in the United Kingdom and returned to Pakistan to serve the people. He added that his family had already contributed to welfare initiatives, including providing transport facilities for female students in Mangla and supporting educational development projects.
The IPP candidate pledged that, after winning the election, he would focus on improving road infrastructure, upgrading educational institutions, establishing new facilities, and strengthening healthcare services across the constituency.
Farooq thanked IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan and AJK Party President Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan for awarding him the party ticket. He also emphasized strong Pakistan-Kashmir relations, calling for dialogue to resolve differences.
He appealed to voters of Khari Sharif to support him and vote for the party’s “Eagle” symbol on polling day. Several local leaders and party workers attended the press conference.
