Cairo, July 12 (QNA) – The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi said the attacks represent a serious violation of the sovereignty of Arab states and a breach of international law and the UN Charter. He warned that the escalation threatens regional security and stability and undermines regional and international efforts to reduce tensions and promote peace.
Al Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with the countries targeted by the attacks and its support for all measures they take to safeguard their sovereignty, protect their national security, and ensure the safety of their citizens and residents. He added that any violation of the sovereignty or territorial integrity of an Arab state constitutes a direct threat to Arab national security and requires a firm regional and international response.
He also called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council and the United Nations, to fulfill their responsibilities by taking swift and effective action to end the attacks, hold those responsible accountable, uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and ensure compliance with international law and the UN Charter, to prevent further escalation and preserve regional and international peace and stability.
