World Leaders Offer Condolences to Qatar Over the Death of the Father Amir

Doha, July 12 (QNA): The Arab and Islamic worlds, along with the international community, have expressed profound sadness over the passing of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, praising his historic leadership, vision and lasting contributions to Qatar, the region and global affairs.
Following the announcement of his passing by the Amiri Diwan, leaders from across the world conveyed their condolences to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Al-Thani family and the people of Qatar. They highlighted the late Father Amir’s role in transforming Qatar into a modern, influential nation and advancing Arab and Islamic causes.
President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his deepest condolences and prayed for mercy upon the late Father Amir, while President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised his contributions and wished Qatar continued security and stability.
King Abdullah II of Jordan conveyed his sincere sympathy, praying for the late leader’s mercy and offering solidarity with Qatar. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed deep sorrow, describing HH the Father Amir as a dear friend and recalling his important role in strengthening Qatar-Turkiye relations across political, economic, military, humanitarian and cultural fields.
President Erdogan said the late Father Amir’s efforts for peace in the Islamic world, regional stability and the prosperity of the Qatari people would always be remembered.
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari expressed profound sorrow over the loss, praising HH the Father Amir’s visionary leadership and his contributions to Qatar’s progress, development and regional cooperation.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun described the passing of HH the Father Amir as a great loss for Qatar, Lebanon and the Arab world. He recalled Qatar’s support for Lebanon during difficult periods, particularly after the 2006 conflict, and highlighted HH the Father Amir’s role in sponsoring the 2008 Doha Conference, which contributed to national reconciliation and political stability in Lebanon.
GCC Secretary-General Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi paid tribute to HH the Father Amir’s role in Qatar’s renaissance and his efforts to strengthen Gulf cooperation, unity and stability.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi described HH the Father Amir as a visionary leader who guided Qatar towards remarkable development and prosperity. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also praised his leadership, saying he transformed Qatar into a nation of global significance and an influential voice in regional and international affairs.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom expressed sorrow over the passing of HH the Father Amir, praising his distinguished leadership and commitment to the wellbeing of the Qatari people.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described HH the Father Amir as a visionary leader and a transformative figure who shaped the future of Qatar and its people.
Arab League officials, Arab Parliament representatives and leaders from various countries highlighted the late Father Amir’s contributions to joint Arab action, humanitarian initiatives and international dialogue.
In the field of sports, Asian Football Confederation President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa praised HH the Father Amir’s vision in developing Qatar as a global sports destination. He highlighted Qatar’s successful bid to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as major sporting events including the Asian Games Doha 2006 and AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011.
The international tributes reflected widespread recognition of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani’s legacy as a leader who transformed Qatar’s development, strengthened its global presence and contributed to peace, cooperation and humanitarian efforts worldwide.
