MIRPUR (AJK): The polling process for government employees in all four constituencies of Mirpur district was completed peacefully, transparently, and in an organized manner on Monday, District and Sessions Judge and District Returning Officer (DRO) Jahangir Ahmed Jarral said.
Talking to APP AJK Correspondent, the DRO said nearly 5,000 government employees exercised their right to vote, while security and administrative arrangements at all polling stations remained satisfactory throughout the day.
He said all arrangements had been completed in advance in line with the directives of the Election Commission, ensuring that voters received necessary facilities. Polling for government employees in LA-1 Dadyal was conducted locally, while voters from the remaining three constituencies cast their votes at the Mirpur District Courts premises.
Jarral said a large number of voters reached polling stations from the beginning of the process, with voting continuing smoothly throughout the day. He appreciated the discipline shown by voters, who maintained queues and exercised their democratic right in an orderly manner.
He added that comprehensive security arrangements were made at all polling centres, with law enforcement personnel deployed to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.
The DRO emphasized that the administration and election staff had fulfilled their responsibility of providing a conducive atmosphere for voters. He said, under the supervision of the Chief Election Commissioner, efforts were continuing to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections, with full implementation of the Election Commission’s code of conduct and electoral laws.
Jarral expressed confidence that the remaining stages of the electoral process would also be completed successfully and thanked voters, election staff, security personnel, and administrative officials for their cooperation.
