MIRPUR (AJK), July 22: Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Sajid Aslam has said that comprehensive preparations are underway to ensure the peaceful, free and fair conduct of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Elections 2026.
He chaired a high-level meeting to review election arrangements, attended by Assistant Commissioner Ali Asghar, District Health Officer Dr. Fida Hussain, District Education Officers Sardar Najam-ul-Shab and Farrukh Owais, Assistant Director Auqaf Zaheeruddin Babar, District Officer Social Welfare Malik Nisar Ahmad, District Mufti Abdul Ghafoor Salfi, XEN Highways Shahzada Aurangzeb and representatives of various government departments.
The meeting was informed about preparations and responsibilities assigned to different departments for smooth election management. Participants briefed the Deputy Commissioner on arrangements being made to ensure an effective and coordinated electoral process.
The meeting decided to further strengthen the monitoring and control system for election-related activities and ensure timely response to any situation. All departments were directed to nominate focal persons for better coordination, communication and immediate action during polling.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Sajid Aslam instructed all departments to complete necessary arrangements before the deadline and perform their duties with dedication. He particularly directed the Education Department to extend full support in election management and administrative coordination.
He emphasized that peaceful elections are a collective responsibility of all stakeholders and stressed the importance of close cooperation among the district administration, police and relevant departments.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to remain connected through focal persons and ensure a safe and peaceful environment for voters on polling day. He urged citizens to exercise their right to vote peacefully on July 27 and actively participate in AJK Elections 2026 to strengthen the democratic process.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all departments to work together for the successful, transparent and secure conduct of elections.
