Doha, July 28 (QNA) – HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani participated on Tuesday in a consultative meeting held by Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states via videoconferencing.
The meeting exchanged views on current developments, the latest update regarding ongoing negotiations, and efforts to advance them towards practical understandings that contribute to reducing tensions and strengthening regional security and stability.
It also discussed ways to intensify coordination and consultation among the GCC states on issues related to safety and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring the rights of passage and transit, and the smooth flow of ships, trade, and supplies, in accordance with international law, and in a manner that preserves the sovereign rights of all states bordering the Gulf waters.
During the meeting, Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers emphasized the importance of continuing joint action, prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions, and creating favorable conditions for building trust and reaching acceptable solutions for all parties.
