Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation Katara has announced the launch of the fourth season of the Teen Art Prize 2026, in cooperation with Art Connect and the British Council in Qatar.
The announcement was made during a press conference attended by H.E. Professor Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, Dr. Waseem Qutub, Director of the British Council in Qatar, and Ms. Daria Kalinina, Founder and CEO of Art Connect, along with representatives of the organising bodies and media outlets.
Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said the initiative reflects Katara’s vision of considering culture as a message and responsibility, while providing young generations with opportunities to express their creativity in a global cultural environment.
He said the theme of this year’s edition, “Belonging,” encourages participants to explore identity, memory, culture and society through artistic expression, promoting diversity, dialogue and understanding among peoples.
Dr. Waseem Qutub highlighted the importance of supporting young talent and providing platforms for creative expression, saying the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering emerging artists and promoting cultural exchange.
Ms. Daria Kalinina said the prize aims to provide young artists with opportunities to showcase their creativity internationally. She noted that the previous season attracted participants from more than 60 countries.
The international contemporary art platform is open free of charge to young artists aged 13 to 17. Entries will be accepted from August 1 to November 1, 2026, with the closing ceremony scheduled for December 3, 2026, at Katara Drama Theatre.
The programme includes an educational initiative, a special project for teenagers with disabilities, dialogue sessions and digital exhibitions.
