JERUSALEM: August 4 (RKI): Nearly 270,000 Israelis left the country for at least three consecutive months between 2023 and 2025 amid security concerns linked to ongoing conflicts and domestic tensions, according to a study by Tel Aviv University.
The study, based on data from Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, found that 90,922 Israelis departed for three or more consecutive months in 2025, representing around 0.89 percent of the country’s population of approximately 10.2 million.
Researchers said the emigration trend that began in 2023 has continued at historically high levels, with an estimated 45,000 to 50,000 Israelis potentially leaving the country for at least one year in 2025.
The study noted that prolonged security concerns following wars and controversy over judicial reforms contributed to the continued departures.
Researchers warned that if the trend persists, increased emigration could affect Israel’s economy and society, particularly through the loss of highly educated professionals in technology, medicine and academia.
Israel’s economy, they said, depends heavily on skilled human resources, and continued departures could create long-term challenges.
