MIRPUR (AJK), August 6: Glorious tributes were paid to the valiant martyrs of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police for their supreme sacrifices at a ceremony held at the lawn of the Mirpur DIG Police Office to commemorate Police Martyrs’ Day.
Speakers said the sacrifices of police personnel and other law enforcement officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty would always be remembered with honour.
The ceremony was attended by families of police martyrs, Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz, DIG Mirpur Region Kamran Ali, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Sajid Aslam, SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal, representatives of civil society, traders’ associations, members of the media, people from various walks of life, and a large number of police officers and personnel.
The event commenced with Fateha at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial, where floral wreaths were laid in honour of the heroes of AJK Police and other law enforcement institutions. Later, the main ceremony was held at the DIG Office lawn.
Addressing the gathering, DIG Mirpur Region Kamran Ali paid tribute to the martyrs of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police, Pakistan Police, other law enforcement agencies, and the Pakistan Army. He said their sacrifices for the protection of the country, maintenance of peace, and public order would always be remembered.
He reaffirmed that police, law enforcement agencies, and the Pakistan Army remain committed to safeguarding the nation and restoring peace.
At the conclusion, special tribute and salute were presented to the families of martyrs in recognition of their patience and sacrifices. The ceremony ended with collective prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
