Doha, August 09 (QNA) — HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman held a meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Sunday, focusing on the longstanding fraternal relations between Qatar and Oman and prospects for strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
HH the Amir welcomed HM the Sultan and his accompanying delegation, expressing his wishes for the Sultan’s continued health and well-being. He also affirmed his hope that the close relations between Qatar and Oman would continue to develop and grow.
HH the Amir praised the deep-rooted historical ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership with Oman. He emphasized the importance of advancing bilateral relations in ways that meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and serve their shared interests.
HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He also conveyed his pleasure at the visit and meeting with HH the Amir, while reaffirming Oman’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination with Qatar.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed their close fraternal relations and reviewed ways to strengthen and develop them at various levels. They also exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani, HE Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani, and HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, along with several other senior Qatari officials.
On the Omani side, the meeting was attended by HH Minister of State and Governor of Muscat Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, HE Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, HE Minister of the Royal Office General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Numani, HE Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, and HE Minister of Energy and Minerals Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, along with several senior members of the accompanying official delegation.
Following the meeting, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HM the Sultan and his accompanying delegation. The banquet was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the sheikhs, ministers and senior officials from both sides.
