WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that no talks or discussions with Iran were underway or scheduled, while saying the Strait of Hormuz remained open under a US naval blockade.
“There are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
He added that the US naval blockade remained “in full force and effect,” while stating that the Strait of Hormuz was open and operating.
Trump also claimed that all water mines in the strategic waterway had either been removed or detonated.
His remarks came amid continued regional tensions and uncertainty over diplomatic efforts involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy shipments.
