Mirpur, AJK, August 27: Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW), marking the birth anniversary of the last Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), was celebrated across Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Mirpur, on Wednesday with traditional religious zeal, fervor and devotion.
Cities, towns and villages across AJK were beautifully decorated and illuminated, while Milad processions, rallies and religious gatherings were organized to commemorate the sacred occasion.
In Mirpur, various processions from different parts of the city and district joined the main Milad procession originating from Markazi Jamia Mosque Moulana Mufti Abdul Hakeem on central Allama Iqbal Road. A large number of people from different walks of life participated with religious enthusiasm.
Religious scholars and officials of the Mirpur administration, including Deputy Commissioner Ch. Sajid Aslam and SSP Khurram Iqbal, joined the procession. Life-time Chairman of Hatam-e-Nabuat (PBUH) and Markazi Milad Committee Muhammad Riaz Alam Advocate, President Markazi Milad Committee Ghulam Rasool Awami and prominent ulema and community figures also participated.
The procession passed through traditional routes and culminated amid prayers and expressions of devotion.
Addressing a Mehfil-e-Milad at Shaheed Chowk, leading ulema and religious scholars paid tribute to Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), emphasizing that success in this world and the hereafter lies in following Islamic teachings and the sayings of the Holy Prophet in individual and collective life.
Speakers highlighted the Prophet’s role in guiding humanity away from ignorance and injustice and towards a life based on justice, dignity, compassion and Islamic values.
Participants prayed for the preservation of Islamic teachings, the Quran and Sunnah, as well as unity, integrity and solidarity among the Muslim Ummah. They also prayed for the early liberation of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and for the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan and AJK.
Sabeels of milk and soft drinks were established by various organizations along procession routes, while cooked food was distributed among people, particularly the poor, orphans and underprivileged.
The streets, roads, bazaars, shopping centers and public and private buildings across Mirpur were illuminated with colorful lights for two nights. Banners carrying messages celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were also displayed throughout the city, adding to the festive and spiritual atmosphere.
