“Meri Cricket Hamari jeet” TapeBall Cricket tournament concludes in Kualalumpur with Karachi Heroes win against Rawalpindi Express:

KUALALUMPUR (Malaysia):.July 8: Malaysia hosted the first tape ball cricket tournament titled “Meri Cricket Hamari jeet” which concluded with beautiful moments of national unity and brotherhood in here yesterday.Organized by Bank Al Habib and IPG Group, the colorful tournament saw Karachi Heroes defeating Rawalpindi Express in a thrilling final to win the inaugural title.

Our Special Diplomatc and Sports Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Kualalumpur today that thousands of cricket fans including families, participated enthusiastically on the final day of the tournament.

The special guest for the final contest was Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Syed Ahsan Raza Shah. The event was also attended by MPBC Malaysia Chairman Dato Seri Nazir Mir Salam, Malaysian Cricket Board President Muhammad Iqbal Ali bin Qasim Ali, Bank Al Habib’s Assistant General Manager Shehryar Safdar, and other dignitaries.

Renowned cricketers Imran Nazir and Mohammad Irfan encouraged the players, while singers Sophia Kaif and Raheel Jabran added charm to the event. On the third and final day, the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final matches showcased players’ impressive performances.

Teams participating in the tournament included Peshawar Leopards, Karachi Heroes, Swat Cheetahs, Swabi Champions, Lahore Sherdils, Buner Bahadurs, Rawalpindi Express, and Sialkot Kings. In the final showdown, Karachi Heroes emerged victorious against Rawalpindi Express, clinching the first title and trophy.

Imran Nazir, Mohammad Irfan, Shehryar Khan, and Jawad Ghulam Rasool distributed trophies and cash prizes to the standout players. After the awards ceremony, singers Sophia Kaif and Raheel Jabran entertained the audience with their music. The spectators showed their appreciation with applause, cheers, and dancing.

On this occasion, Pakistani High Commissioner Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, Bank Al Habib’s Shehryar Safdar, MPBC Chairman Dato Seri Nazir Mir Salam, IPG Group CEO Jawad Ghulam Rasool, and Malaysian Cricket Board President Muhammad Iqbal Ali spoke to the media. Ends
