Lahore, 15 July 2024: Mohammad Haris has been appointed as Pakistan Shaheens’ white-ball captain for two 50-over matches and the Top End T20 series in Darwin, Australia, from 4-18 August. Haris led Pakistan Shaheens to victory in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 against India.
Pakistan Shaheens are in Darwin for two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’ on 19-22 July and 26-29 July. They will play 50-over matches against Northern Territory (NT) on 4 August and Bangladesh ‘A’ on 6 August, followed by the T20 series starting on 9 August. Participating teams include ACT Comets, Bangladesh ‘A’, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Northern Territory Strike, Adelaide Strikers, and Tasmania.
Seven new players will join the white-ball squad: Abdul Faseeh, Arafat Minhas, Arif Yaqoob, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Imran Jnr, and Usman Khan, replacing Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Ali, Mubasir Khan, Tayyab Tahir, and Umar Amin.
This is Pakistan Shaheens’ second year in the Darwin series. Last year, NT Strike defeated them in the Top End T20 Series final, but they won against PNG and Northern Strike in the One-day matches.
