AJK CDC approves Rs. 9.60 billion 15 mass development projects of mass public welfare. In the State.

MIRPUR  ( AJK): February 4: Azad Jammu Kashmir Cabinet Development Committee Wednesday approved Rs. 9.60 billion worth ‎The CDC approved 15 development projects worth Rs. 9.60 billion for the Public Health, Higher Education, and Communication & Works (C&W) departments.‎During the meeting,  development projects including those meant for the Public Health, Higher Education, and Communication & Works (C&W) sectors in the state, it was officially said.

“The 3rd meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Development Committee (CDC) for the financial year 2025–26 was held in the State metropolis on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore”,  authorotative AJK government sources told APP on Wednesday

Eleborating, the sources continued that four projects of the Public Health Engineering Department, one project of the Higher Education Department, and ten projects of the Communication & Works Department were presented and approved.‎The meeting also took important decisions regarding the provision of basic facilities to the public, improvement of the healthcare system, enhancement of educational infrastructure, and strengthening of the road network.‎‎In the health sector, the MNCH project was approved. Furthermore, the establishment of operation theaters and nursery units in Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals of Muzaffarabad, Poonch, and Mirpur divisions was approved, which will significantly improve healthcare facilities across all three divisions.‎In the higher education sector, the meeting approved the construction of infrastructure for the University of Haveli.‎Similarly, several projects were approved in the Communication & Works sector, including the construction and rehabilitation of 24 kilometers of link roads and an adjacent bridge in Neelum district; remodeling of major city squares, including CMH Chowk and Allama Iqbal Bridge Chowk, in Muzaffarabad; construction and improvement of 24.51 kilometers of roads in Muzaffarabad district; blacktopping of 7 kilometers of the Shaheed Gali–Serikot Road; procurement of machinery for road maintenance and landslide clearance in the Poonch zone; construction and rehabilitation of 45 kilometers of link roads in Kotli district; and construction and rehabilitation of 13.75 kilometers of a link road along with a 190-meter-span bridge in Haveli district.‎The meeting also approved road construction projects, including blacktopping of Soun Manjhari–Trar Khul Road (Parts I and II) in Poonch district, and construction and improvement of a 3.25-kilometer dual carriageway from Mangla to Sahib Chak in Mirpur district.‎The committee reaffirmed its commitment to completing all projects in a timely and transparent manner to ensure early benefits for the public.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that improvement of health, education, and infrastructure remains the government’s top priority. He stated that concrete steps are being taken to strengthen the health sector to provide basic facilities to both disaster-affected and urban populations.‎

Terming the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) a party of martyrs, he said the party has always taken historic steps for public welfare and will continue to address the grievances of the people. He added that the government will utilize all available resources for public welfare.‎Meanwhile, a special prayer was offered for the late President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry.‎The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed, other government ministers, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, and senior government secretaries.
