AJK Government Prioritizes Quran Education and Recitation, PM Faisal Rathore Announces

MIRPUR (AJK), March 16 – Azad Jammu & Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said promoting the education and recitation of the Holy Quran remains a key priority of his government. He made the remarks while addressing a high-level meeting of the Tajweed-ul-Quran Trust at Jammu Kashmir House, stressing the importance of religious education in strengthening societal values.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Information, Religious Affairs, and Auqaf Chaudhry Muhammad Rafiq Nayyar, while Chief Secretary Khushal Khan joined via video link. Officials approved increasing the monthly honorarium of Qurra (Quran reciters) to recognize their valuable contribution to Islamic education and community service.
PM Rathore highlighted the critical role of Quran reciters in society and pledged continued government support for their welfare and encouragement. He emphasized that the government will take effective steps to strengthen Quran education and promote Tajweed through the Trust, ensuring widespread participation and awareness.
The Prime Minister directed authorities to implement the honorarium increase promptly and to develop a comprehensive strategy to further enhance the performance of the Tajweed-ul-Quran Trust. He stressed the importance of sustained efforts to ensure proper education, recitation, and practice of the Holy Quran, reinforcing the government’s strong commitment to religious education and spiritual guidance across AJK.
